Give Your Conditioner a Scalp Cleaning Boost

For all my no shampoo, and low shampoo readers, let’s talk about how to do correctly exfoliate the scalp while using only conditioner (co-washing). The new trend to move away from shampoos filled with drying, damaging detergents has continued to grow as more and more men and women see the benefits of cleansing their hair with just conditioner. There are thousands of types of conditioners to use, from clarifying to ultra-moisturizing. To give your co-wash a boost and get the best of cleansing and moisture, try the following steps for scalp exfoliation:

Scalp Exfoliant

1. Place 3 table spoons of brown sugar in a bowl (white sugar dissolves very quickly)

2. Mix it with your favorite conditioner (preferably a lighter conditioner)

3. Apply mixture directly to the scalp with the pads of your fingers, using circular motions

4.Rinse out

5. Next, apply only conditioner to the rest of your hair and leave on for a few minutes

6.Rinse out

7.Style hair as usual

This scalp exfoliant can be used once or twice a month instead of drying commercial shampoos to keep hair and scalp clean and soft. It can also be used as a scalp scrub for people with very dry scalp as it helps to exfoliate dead skin and loosen the scalp.
