My advice is simply not touching the hair. I found that when I was jumping on all the band wagons using all the different products that were popular at the time, my hair suffered. For example I tried Monistat, MSM, Shapleys, Cayenne pepper, you name it I did it. Only to have my hair shedding and breaking off. However the one thing that I started using and have reaped the benefits from using it is Amla powders and oils, as well as shikaikai oils and powders. I use Hesh powders mixed into my conditioners, and I use them once per week sometimes once every two. Also I stopped doing length checks so often, its like they say a watched pot of water won't boil, well that is sooooooo true. I would length check every month, then I decided I would wait and do it once every six months. And it paid off, because I can literally see the difference in my hairs progress. Also Moisture and protein balancing as well as sealing my ends with an oil after I put a moisturizer on them. My hair loves moisture, but I notice when I use too much moisture my hair sheds really bad. I found that a good way to combat shedding from too much moisture was to simply use a protein conditioner once weekly. Aside from deep conditioning once a week (something I just started doing in October) I simply leave my hair alone. I bun 98% of the time. I only use heat maybe once a month. And to be honest I am seeing a HUGE difference in my hairs progress. I hope that helps.Delete Comment
