What is your daily hair regimen?

Just curious, wanted to collect everyone's hair regimens. Tell me what your hair regimen looks like and how happy you are with the results.

Beauty Inspiration-On "Going Natural" for Black Women

Beauty Inspiration-On "Going Natural" for Black WomenIn today's beauty world we're coming upon an uprising of women who demand the right to be natural. While many African-American women continue to utlilize relaxers to maintain the straight look, many are making the choice to discontinue the use of chemical straighteners and follow a new regimen of natural hair care. For many of the women who are just starting out on the journey towards natural hair care there is limited information available to…See More

How long is too long?

For the past few years of my life I have spent every waking moment trying to grow longer, stronger, shinier hair. Recently I realized that I have finally reached my goal of finding the right hair regimen to help my hair grow and my hair length is steadily increasing. My hair is longer than it's been since high school and I'm excited about my new length, but when do I stop? I told my husband yesterday that I want to grow my hair down past my bra like a Victoria's Secret model, but he seems to…See More

My favorite flat iron brand

If you have curly hair and enjoy having the option of wearing your hair straight once in a while (or every day) you'll need a good flat iron to do the job. A good flat iron reaches high heats evenly throughout the plates, has ultra smooth plates, and is made from quality ceramic that produces negative ions. What flat iron gets our vote? FHI.An FHI flat iron offers superior quality styling at a price that makes it obtainable (it's not cheap, costs around $120...less if it's on sale). This flat…See More

About Me:
When it comes to hair I believe in being as natural as possible. Keeping it basic is the key for me. I have experimented with relaxers, colors, and weaves and in the end I found that what the good Lord gave me was the best choice. I do straighten my hair in winter, but always go natural when it's hot. I am a strong advocate for black women to stop relaxing their hair. There are safer ways to straighten our hair that will not damage and stunt our growth.

Here is my hair regimen. My hair has grown significantly in the past year and is now well past my shoulders. I just though I would share what has worked for me because I absolutely love to trade beauty secrets.

1. I only wash my hair once per week so not to over dry my hair.

2. After shampooing with Motions brand…

Traction Alopecia

Traction Alopecia, a hair loss condition caused by damage to the dermal papilla and hair follicle by constant pulling or tension over a long period, is most common in African-American women and men who braid or pull their hair too tightly. Now they are becoming increasingly popular for normal folks because they look natural and are very easy to wear. Lace front wigs represent the latest technology for non-surgical hair replacement in the world today. A lace [...]
