I've reached bss....and I wear mine lower than most!!! Will get a pic soon to post. At this rate (G-d willing), I'm going to be waistlength around mid Fall or even sooner as I'll push conditioning treatments and co-washing in the Summer. Protective styling is a must-do. My favorite Youtube tutorial on how to do a Chinese Braid Bun. Boy do I wish I were bull bss and beyond...that'll take about 2 years more...not going to cut at all.

Ghee/Clarified Butter in the Routine

BTW, Ethiopians and Sudanese have been using ghee for millennia. It really helps our type of hair. I remember reading on the Desi sites about ghee and they were all laughing at the idea (well, their hair is different). I can't really use their oils because they contain mineral oil and no matter the quantity of herbs, the quality is erased IMHO with the addition of the mineral oil. It's not good for our kind of hair. It makes it hard and straight hair can take it. Curly locs need softening oils.… Continue
