Ok I have been struggling with my hair for what seems like years....I had a perm maybe 7-8 years ago and my beautician talked me into getting my hair pressed.....since then, I have been struggling with my hair....I am not sure what's better, getting my hair pressed or permed....

HELP!

I am thinking about going back to getting my hair permed, but if it isn't a good idea I don't want to...any suggestions?

Hello, I am new to this site. I have a press and curl currently. Have been without a perm in well over 6-7 years. I use to wear 4 rows of weave while pressing my hair and that suited me fine. Now, I want to wear my own atural hair, which is so thin and fine, so I resorted to two tracks to ween myself off of the weaving altogether. I will say that it appears hard to wear the hair out naturally with a press and curl esp. if your hair is soft and fine. The weather/moisture tends to revert the hair too quickly. I too, am thinking of getting either a texturizer or a kiddie perm. And it seems like the key to a process is to not over process and to NEUTRALIZE that chemical before washing the hair. ???
I am new as well! I like the look of this site, and I wish it was a bit busier than it is. But I guess once word of mouth get around than it will really be fun.
Oh wow! First off thanks for responding......I think If I get a perm, I could also safe a bit of money too.

DO you have a perm now?
