Hi,

I am not a stylist however I am also growing out my hair and very cautious about what I put on my hair and what I
buy. Unfortunately I have spent quit a bit of money on products just trying to find out what my hair like.

I do not use any shampoo's with harsh chemicals like Sulfates of any kind they strip all the natural oils
out of you hair may damage your hair follicle I have heard and can lead to health problems.

I do not use products with mineral oils, petrolatum or lanolin in them. These chemical ingredients are
in 90% of all Black Hair Care Products and are said to coat the hair locking out any nutrients or moisture.
In the long run it is said that you hair will dry, crack and split causing you to have to cut all your length off.

If you condition is not a medical one you may have clogged follicles from chemical build up and may need
to do a clarifier to get product build up off you scalp.

It will be hard for someone to recommended a product to you simply because what work for someone else
may not work for you. Hair is funny almost has it's own personality and you have to find out what your hair
like and don't like.

5 Things to Do for Healthy Hair

Pre-Shampoo (please go to youtube for plenty of examples) this helps protect you hair from harsh water
during shampoo, or harsh chemicals that may be in your shampoo.

Shampoo with vitamin, moisture, protein rich shampoo nothing harsh. I am using Giovanni Tree Tree it is
not very moisturizing but has great hair food in it to promote growth and healthy hair. I add Organic
Olive Oil and Macadamia Nut Oil to it to give my hair a soft feel

Deep condtioner every week with plastic bag ( 30 to 45 minutes) and under dryer 20 minutes if possible).
Once again you want to use a good conditioner. I am getting to the point where if I cannot read the
ingredients and identify with them I don't want to use it. Exam. Rosemary, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil,
Neem, Vitamin E. Also important to rotate Moisturizer condition one week then protein conditioner
the next week. Some people just add an egg to their conditioner for the protein deep conditioner.

Daily moisturizer - black hair is typically dry especially if it is relaxed. So you have to keep the hair moist
or it will become damaged. Once again you want to use a good daily moisturizer that will grow you
hair healthy.

Seal your hair with an oil... this locks in the moisture for maxim results. Once again an oil with
good herbs or essential oils that promotes hair growth, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Neem, Basil etc.

Wearing protective styles like bunning your hair, braids (not to tight you could get serious damage from
braids that are to tight..permanent damage) French Rolls, Corn Rows. My differentiation of protective
style is any style protects the ends of your hair. This prevents the ends drying out and becoming
split. If you have split ends they will travel up the hair strand and ruin your hair. Get a fresh trim
and watch how you retain the length of you hair.
